Alexander McQueen Style Photoshoot - Dramatic Romance

Inspiration photo

Mr. McQueen was a famous British fashion designer. He has exquisite taste of fashion through a gothic romantic way. Unfortunately, McQueen committed suicide shortly after the death of his mother. He was only 40 years old. Rest in Peace, Mr. McQueen!

The whole photo shoot was organized by Iz Cary (hair/makeup artist). I worked with Iz before and she is very professional and extremely determined about the project. A lot of photographers love to work with her. She did a beautiful grunge makeup job on the female model and I love the makeup highlight job.

Iz contacted me if I have any wardrobe for the models. Luckily, I had a secret small project on a wedding dress (coming soon) and also an antique 1890s New York tailored suit hanging on my clothing rack.

Iz also wanted a skull. I asked two vintage shops, Afterlife vtg and Lunadust vtg. I know both owners and we love to chitchat about vintage when we see eachother. Sadly, Lunadust didn’t reply me back but Afterlife vtg replied me right away and they just sold out. Oh darn it! However, I saw Target was selling some faux cattle skull. So I did the cheap Asian way, I bought the skull for the photo shoot and return it afterward. =X

Nicole is a professional photographer and her work are absolutely grand and stunning! I really didn’t want to Nicole’s work so I took some photos after she was done.

It didn’t feel like Alexander McQueen Style so I made Daniel took off his shirt and tie. It looks like high school prom when he had his shirt and tie on. xP

When I started to take photos, I instructed them to lie down and I put a sheer lace over their faces so it gave a dramatic romance style to it. Something like Romeo and Juliet lovers till death. I was pretty amazed how Ally and Daniel can keep a straight face the whole time. Unless we were making fun of Daniel’s nipple was showing. Ally Ridge is a student at University of Utah and Daniel Black is a fitness guru. I do recommend you to work those models!
